Not a long time ago, Andrej Karpathy was saying that 80% of his time is dedicated to data quality… until we will have tools that read a data scientist’s mind, data engineering is here to stay. Everybody wants to care about the model and avoids getting hands dirty with data collection and preparation. But that’s not how it works in the real world.
